Trainee counsellor opportunities

The role comprises:

Providing a minimum of three client sessions a week as part of the brief-counselling service (offering clients up to eight sessions following an initial assessment) for individuals (aged 16 and over) with a wide range of issues, in Malton or Scarborough

Where appropriate, providing up to eight additional sessions to clients of the above service with more complex issues (excluding trauma and/or abuse), subject to agreement with the Chief Officer under the co-payment counselling scheme

Attending the free, monthly, facilitated supervision group provided by CCL (in addition to external clinical supervision and any supervision provided by the training provider).

Working within the CCL hybrid or blended delivery model – the majority of sessions will be face-to-face but you may be expected to provide some sessions remotely e.g. online
The role is open to candidates who are undertaking a diploma in counselling (or equivalent course). Confirmation of fitness to practice is required if you are in your first year of study. The role also requires an enhanced DBS check.
