Samaritans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-judgemental and anonymous listening for people in distress
Mental health out-of-hours telephone helpline service North Yorkshire County Council and the NHS fund a telephone helpline that provides emotional support, signposting and referral into other services for individuals and for the carers of people experiencing mental distress. People who need advice, support or help can call the dedicated number - 0333 0000 309 - to speak to a friendly, understanding and non-judgmental adviser.
This service is available 365 days a year during the following hours:
Monday to Thursday 5pm to 8:30am
Friday 4:30pm to 8am
Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 24 hours a day

Supporting Victims If you live in Ryedale of Scarborough Borough Districts and have been the victim of a serious crime, you may be entitled to free counselling from us. You can contact Supporting Victims by calling 01904 669 276 between the hours of 8am and 7pm. Outside of these hours, you can call the national Victims Info Line on 0808 168 9293 or access the website to find out if you are eligible for help.
